For those of you who have been following, I have been doing a top 20 list of the most expensive streets in the Hackney E5 area. Hackney is a large area with many postcodes as well as E5 and I will be showing you the top 20 list for the whole Hackney area in the next, final article in this series.
I have lived in the area all of my life, over 40 years now and can say it is a truly wonderful place to live. The cultural mix of people from diverse backgrounds make up a vibrant community. You have a great variety of local parks and green spaces and a mix of local well known and niche shops as well as the thriving markets. The majority of schools are good to high rated making it ideal for the influx of young families who have recently come into the area. Transport facilities and road links are excellent too making for a quick commute to the city or an easy trip to a weekend getaway destination.
Hackney has also produced some famous faces including author Edgar Alan Poe, Barbara Windsor, Noel Fielding, Lord Alan Sugar and the hotly tipped next James Bond, Idris Elba.
